All’Incontro is the outcome of a special encounter with Colorino, a very bold and intriguing native variety.
Appellation: Igt Toscana
Variety: 90% Colorino, 10% Sangiovese
Vine training system: Gobelet
Altitude: 550 s.l.m
Vinification: After the harvest prefermentation cold soaking is carried out for 48 hours. Then fermentation starts in steel tanks, the whole maceration on skins process lasts 30 days during which daily punch-down and pump-over are carried out.
Ageing: At least 24 months in small French oak barrels and at least 6 months of bottle ageing.
Winemaker’s note: This wine is the outcome of some experiments carried out in Colorino vinification in recent years. While the glass is being poured, you can appreciate the deepness of its colour, which is impressively dark and one of the main characteristics of this variety. On the nose it stands out for a sharp spicy note of black pepper and also notes of cassis, blackberry, liquorice root and balsamic hints. On the palate it reveals its complexity and full body structure; the texture is velvety and refined. The aromatic sensations are really vast and dense and they finish in a long lasting aftertaste that embraces your whole mouth. I produce All’Incontro only in the most worthy vintages in limited numbered editions.
